A method to slow down the corrosion in harsh environments is to anodize the raw aluminum camera enclosures and mounts.

For challenging marine or corrosive installations, the environmental conditions will be a catalysis for the corrosion process. For example, mounting an aluminum camera in the presence of marine air will create corrosion on the aluminum camera.
