Plans for the Chinese Millennium Monument, located in Beijing China, were first
discussed in 1998, as the government decided upon a site and a team to
coordinate its design and construction.
Now standing in Beijing, this extraordinary monument is a major attraction to
tourists around the world, beautifully constructed and complete with cultural
archives, religious symbols, and modern art. Inside, its Plaza of Culture and
Art Museum hold and display a multitude of cultural artifacts and fine art.
Additionally, ornate carvings and statues can be found within and alongside its
great walls.
The Millennium monument not only represents the celebration of a new century,
but also remembers the past 5,000 years of Chinese civilization. It is used to
educate today’s youth, honor ancestors, and encourage descendants to maintain
yesterday’s traditions while fulfilling tomorrow’s promise.
It is necessary for a national monument holding such great importance to have a
dependable and highly functional security system. This is why Beijing Master
Automatic Control Engineering selected Pelco as their system of choice for this
project.
Beijing Master Automatic Control Engineering Co. Ltd. has been in business for
ten years, with five years of experience in the security industry. Chen Lihua,
Director of their Technical Department discussed the installation of the Pelco
systems at the Millennium Monument with Pelco.
As Lihua explains, the monument had a need for a "National Cultural Relic Level
One Security Project." Beijing Master Automatic Control Engineering bid on the
project, and was selected to install the security system. They had a deadline
of January 1, 2000 to have the systems installed to secure the monument, its
national treasures, and valuables.
The installed security system monitors the monument’s entrances and exits as
well as the entire exhibition hall. The main system for this project is Pelco’s
System 9760, which integrates the 128 cameras that are set up at the entrances,
exits, elevators, and the exhibition hall.
When asked why his company chose Pelco equipment, Lihua responded, "Pelco’s
matrix systems have an advantage over any other brand." One of the reasons
behind this advantage is Pelco’s technical support. Lihua mentioned that
whenever there is any technical support required at the Millennium Monument,
the service center in Shanghai is immediately available to assist them.
The China Millennium Monument is one of the many great national landmarks
secured by a Pelco System. Beijing Master Automatic Control Engineering Co.
made the right choice when choosing a security system to protect this monument,
and as always, Pelco will support their technical and customer service needs
100 percent.
