What are the system requirements for B.O.S.S.®?

Microsoft Windows® 9x(with Internet Explorer 5)/Me/2000/XP or NT® 4.0 with
Service Pack 3

Pentium with 32 MB of RAM (200Mhz with 64MB of RAM recommended)

CD-ROM drive

55 MB minimum free disk space. This includes 45 MB on the drive where Windows
is installed and another 10 on the drive in which B.O.S.S. will be installed.
Future updates to B.O.S.S. will require additional disk space.

SVGA video system and monitor capable of displaying 640X480 and 256 colors
minimum, 800x600 recommended.

Adobe Acrobat Reader version 3.0 minimum (Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 available
for installation from the B.O.S.S.® CD)

How do I install B.O.S.S.® onto my computer?
There are complete installation instructions included on the B.O.S.S.® CD-ROM.
This text file is called InstallationInstructions.Txt.

How do I update B.O.S.S.®?
Log onto the Internet. Open the B.O.S.S.® program and select Tools on the Menu
Bar. Select Update. Follow the steps on the Update screen to check for new
information. It will list the information available for update and allow you to
download and use it.

Who are the B.O.S.S.® contact people in Pelco?
For technical help on B.O.S.S.®, contact anyone in the
Technical Support Department.

Do I need a B.O.S.S.® Access Code, and how do I get one if I do?
Access codes in B.O.S.S.® are only required for pricing information and
regional product availability. Please contact your Pelco account representative
if you need an access code and were not provided one..

Where do I put the B.O.S.S.® Access Code?
Open B.O.S.S.®. Go to Tools on the Menu Bar and then go to Access Code.

Can I get a B.O.S.S.® Access Code if I am not a direct Pelco customer?
Yes. Contact a Pelco Sales Representative with your request, and you may be
given a B.O.S.S.® Access Code that will reveal MSRP pricing for Pelco products.
If you need additional pricing information, contact the Pelco Representative in
your area.

How do I find out the date of my latest B.O.S.S.® update?
B.O.S.S.® will remind you every 30 days to do an update. In the mean time
however, you can go to Tools on the Menu Bar and then go to Update. There you
will see an update log telling you when your last update was made.

Can I copy what is on the B.O.S.S.® CD to my hard drive so I do not have to
carry the CD around?
Yes, copy the entire Literature folder from the B.O.S.S.® CD. Replace the
Literature folder on your hard drive where B.O.S.S.® is installed. On most
machines, the installation folder will be C:\Program Files\Pelco\BOSS4.

How do I configure B.O.S.S. so that I can view PAL format products?
If you have an Access Code you don't need to do anything, regional availability
of NTSC/EIA and PAL/CCIR products are encoded in the Access Code. If you do not
have an Access Code an additional configuration option will be available on the
Preferences screen. Go to Tools on the Menu Bar and select "Edit
Preferences...". On the Setup tab, you can choose which products you wish to
view.
