INTRODUCTION

Read through the instructions in this document before you update the software on the DVR5100 Series Digital Video Recorders. For ease use, it is recommended that you print these instructions.

DOWNLOADING THE SOFTWARE UPDATE FILE

1. From the Digital Video Recorders page, click the update file for the DVR5100. A login page appears.
2. Enter your login information and Click Login. If you do not have a User ID and Password, select Register a New User and complete the application. An email will be sent to your email address with a link to activate your profile.
3. Click the Plus sign (+) next to DVR5100 to expose the current update files.
4. Select Readme to understand the scope of the update.
5. Click to Download Instructions for the given update. Ensure you understand the steps involved.

DX8000 Series

In keeping with the Pelco commitment to 100% customer satisfaction, we would like to make you aware of a service update for all Pelco DX8000 Digital Video Recorders.

Within a very small percentage of recorders (far less than 1%), the recording of video may be halted if any of the video index files become damaged, for example, by an unexpected loss of power during an index-file write cycle.

This download contains a service update that will prevent this from occurring once installed on a DX8000 server. We strongly recommend that this patch be applied to all DX8000 units since there is no way of predicting when a file could become corrupt.

DX8100 Process Tutorials

DX8100 Version 2.0 software update is based on the XPe operating system and can only be used on DX8100 XPe-based units. It is not intended for Windows 2000-based units. In order to install version 2.0 on a Windows 2000-based system, I will have to purchase one copy of DX8100XPEUP from Pelco for each DX8100 that needs to be upgraded from W2K to XPe.

I agree that I will only install this copy of V2.0 on units that are currently operating under XPe.
