New York Presbyterian Hospital

Known as one of the nation’s top medical centers, New York Presbyterian Hospital – Columbia Presbyterian Center, is a teaching hospital that serves the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Nearly 15,000 employees work to meet the needs of thousands of patients every day. The 11 buildings on its campus house 900 inpatient hospital beds, multiple laboratories, clinical services, academic departments, and administrative offi ces. With the population of a small town, the hospital must deal with the same concerns and security requirements, and thus needed an advanced video security solution. To protect its facilities, patients, and employees, the hospital installed an extensive array of Pelco products. Columbia’s 250-member security force now relies on Pelco DX9000 Digital Video Recorders, camera motion detectors, Spectra III Camera Positioning Systems, and a variety of other high-end cameras and specialty devices, including the System 9760 Video Matrix Switch.
