Cincinnati Public Library

The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County turned to American Sound & Electronics of Covington, Kentucky for help in safeguarding its growing DVD collection. Together with the help of Pelco Representative, Nancy Karnes of Bruce Dawson Associates, they devised a solution that also fit within the library’s budget constraints. Library staff recognized that these materials are easy to steal and bypass the standard check-out procedures, but wanted to keep the DVDs on display to encourage more patrons to access them. Now, Pelco is ensuring that happens in 14 library branches outfitted with Spectra Mini dome cameras that continuously monitor the DVD display areas to help prevent theft of the valued materials.
