With greater numbers of students attending colleges and universities, the demand for leading-edge video security systems to keep students, faculty and staff safe is a top concern. In the United Kingdom, the University of Wolverhampton and Brunel University have each invested in a Pelco solution.

Solution
Wolverhampton is a high-tech campus, with top sports facilities, virtual learning environments and the largest wireless network in higher education. With such an investment, the university needed a level of security that allows students open access to the campus while preventing entry to restricted areas. Spectra III high-speed dome cameras (with 360-degree rotation and 16:1 optical zoom) were installed as ceiling mounts, surface mounts and false ceiling mounts. Brunel uses an educational approach combining academic rigor with a practical, entrepreneurial and imaginative approach. Brunel installed more than 60 cameras, including Spectra III SE integrated positioning systems, tied to a Pelco video matrix switch.

Result
