Mission
For students to feel comfortable enough to grasp knowledge, question ideas and expand their understanding of the world they live in, they need a secure environment. Pelco has developed video security solutions ideal for protecting students and teachers – and Avondale School District in Auburn Hills, Michigan recognized this.

 

Solution
When school district voters approved a bond measure to finance increased technology, Pelco was the solution chosen to help protect the children of the district’s seven campuses. The community was in favor of installing video security on campus, but some teachers and students were apprehensive the system could be used to encroach on their privacy. To address that concern, a system was designed that did not include cameras inside of classrooms.

 

Result
A number of cameras were installed throughout the district, including Spectra III dome systems and DF5 Series Fixed Mount Dome Camera systems. Video is recorded on Pelco DX8000 Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) featuring sharp image quality, immense storage capacity and server-to-server connectivity with control. School officials say the Pelco solution has successfully deterred vandals and helped resolved conflicts on campus.
