Pelco Takes its Place at the New Manchester Academy

Mission
Manchester Academy, located in the heart of Manchester, England, is a high-performing center of learning where students develop a responsible attitude and approach to education. Specializing in business and enterprise, the Academy is part of the United Learning Trust (ULT), which manages a number of academies across the country. Manchester Academy recently underwent a massive technological transformation and upgrade. As part of this redevelopment, the Academy required an advanced video security system to maintain a secure environment for its state-of-the-art learning facilities and playing fields.

Solution
The entire video security system was designed and implemented by the client and Siemens. As part of the installation, Manchester Academy employs over 30 Pelco cameras throughout its campus. The cameras are linked to two Pelco DX8000 Digital Video Recorders, which are housed in the main server room.

Result
Completed in spring 2005, the new building at Manchester Academy houses a range of facilities from fully equipped laboratories and workshops to teaching rooms, photographic darkrooms, lecture halls and an auditorium. Pelco cameras provide high-quality images of these areas as well as of the student union, café and sports hall entrances. The cameras provide the necessary security without interfering with the aesthetic goals of the academy.
