                  Customer Discount Maintenance

                  June 7, 2011

Customer discount levels can be stored in the customer file in B.O.S.S. 5.0, so you do not have to enter it in the Discount/Markup section every time you create a Quote or Order.  To enter or update a customer discount level in the customer file, use the following instructions:

                  1. Log into B.O.S.S. 5.0
                  2. Click on the Customers icon
                  3. Locate the customer in question
                  4. Click on the Edit icon (looks like a pencil)
                  5. When the customer info appears, the discount will be on the lower right of the page
                  6. Enter or change the discount level as necessary

                  Exporting Price Lists

                  April 20, 2010

Did you know the price list export feature in B.O.S.S.® 5.0 allows the user to customize the fields that are exported? To export a price list with only the information you need, use the following steps:

                  • Select Export Price List from the View menu
                  • By default, all models will be exported.
                    • To limit the models exported, uncheck the “View all models” box and use the product grid to drill down to the product category, product type, or product family that you would like to export.
                  • Select three to seven fields to display in your report by checking or removing the check from the boxes next to the fields you would like to export.
                    • This is limited to seven fields, as the page formatting becomes illegible beyond that number. Keep in mind, some fields are much larger than others, so you may want to adjust accordingly.
                  • Click Generate Price List.
                  • Using the drop down box that says “Select a format,” click on the drop down menu and select Excel or Acrobat (PDF) file.
                  • Click Export.
                    • Export to Excel without formatting by clicking the “Export To CSV” button on the upper left corner of the page.
