Pelco has a long tradition of helping those in need. It has become a proud part of our corporate culture and is officially organized under the Pelco Community Partnership Program. We believe that everyone can make a difference and are proud to support our employees in their efforts around the world. Listed below is a sampling of a few of the many organizations we partner with to make our communities a better place for everyone.

Just as Pelco gives back to our community, we encourage our employees to do the same by volunteering their time and talents to qualified charities. We then match their volunteer hours with paid time off from work so that they can double the amount of time that they are able to contribute and enabling them to make an even greater impact.

Pelco Special Education Kids Day 

The Fresno County Office of Education and Pelco join forces for this special event to provide an educational and entertaining experience for students with severe disabilities. During this event more than 800 special education students and their teachers come to Pelco to enjoy a day packed with activities to meet their unique needs.

Toys for Tots

Pelco helps make miracles come true for thousands of children every holiday season through participation in the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program. The drive to collect toys is a yearlong effort by employees. Money is raised through such activities as bake sales, raffles, voluntary payroll deductions, the Toys for Tots Holiday Fun Run, and more. Pelco employees made their first donation to Toys for Tots in 1993. Since then, the cumulative Pelco donation has surpassed one million toys, making Pelco the largest donor to the organization.

International Red Cross

After the devastating earthquake in China in 2008, a grassroots fundraising effort by Pelco employees raised more than $27,000 for the International Red Cross to help the residents of China.

Eco-Friendly Volunteering

From tree planting to helping install solar panels on low-income housing, Pelco Community Partnership Volunteers participate in many environmental projects as part of the company’s Go Green efforts.

The Pelco Scholarship Program

Each year Pelco is proud to award several scholarships to graduating seniors of Pelco employees and students in the communities surrounding our global headquarters. To qualify,students must also be pursuing an education in the area of Business or Engineering.

 

We are pleased to once again offer these scholarship opportunities to 2011 graduating seniors pursuing an education in business or engineering. The 2011 application deadline is Friday, April 15, 2011.
