Issue
The Energy Policy Act of 2005 changes the effective dates of DST in the United States, Canada, and selected other locations. Beginning in March 2007, DST in affected geographical regions will begin three weeks earlier (2:00 A.M. on the second Sunday in March) and will end one week later (2:00 A.M. on the first Sunday in November) than in previous years.
This change in the law invalidates the rule-based DST feature available in the DX1000/DX1100. There is no method to change the DST rules in the DX1000/DX1100.
Resolution
Users operating the DX1000/DX1100 in regions affected by the new DST schedule must disable DST functionality on their DX1000/DX1100 and subsequently adjust the system time manually to comply with the new DST schedule.
Note: When system time is adjusted backward for the fall time change, the DX1000/DX1100 will not record for one hour, until the system time has advanced beyond the previously recorded time. (Example: When user sets system time back from 2:00 A.M. to 1:00 A.M., the DX1000/DX1100 will not resume recording until system time is 2:00:01 A.M.).
