Issue
The Energy Policy Act of 2005 changes the effective dates of DST in the United States, Canada, and selected other locations. Beginning in March 2007, DST in affected geographical regions will begin three weeks earlier (2:00 A.M. on the second Sunday in March) and will end one week later (2:00 A.M. on the first Sunday in November) than in previous years.
The Endura system relies on Linux OS for Daylight Saving Time control. Therefore, the Endura SM5000 must receive a software update to be compliant with the new DST schedule.
Resolution
Update the SM5000 with the DST patch (SM5000_TIMEZONE.ppm) that is provided on the Pelco Partner Portal. This is the only updater that has been tested and validated by Pelco for use with the SM5000, and it is the only updater that will be supported by Pelco. Note: Users should not attempt to use an update from Linux or from any other source or location.
Instructions
Pelco Certified System Designer or Pelco Certified System Technician must download the DST patch and instructions here.
