Issue
The Energy Policy Act of 2005 changes the effective dates of Daylight Saving Time (DST) in the United States, Canada, and selected other locations. Beginning in March 2007, DST in affected geographical regions will begin three weeks earlier (2:00 A.M. on the second Sunday in March) and will end one week later (2:00 A.M. on the first Sunday in November) than in previous years.
The VMX300 uses Windows facilities for Daylight Saving Time control. Therefore, the VMX300 must receive a software update to be compliant with the new DST schedule.
Resolution
User must update software on the VMX300 using the Pelco DST updater. This is the only updater that has been tested and validated by Pelco for use with the VMX300, and it is the only updater that will be supported by Pelco. Note: Users should not attempt to use an update from Microsoft or from any other source or location.
