Introducing Pelco VMX300 and VMX300-E
– Bridging the Gap Between Analog and IP-Based Video

Clovis, CA (March 31, 2004) – Pelco is pleased to announce the release of the VMX300 and VMX300-E Video Management Systems. The VMX300 systems are the ideal solution for those seeking to create a hybrid video surveillance system, combining both analog and IP-based video devices. VMX300 systems provide a bridge between these two technologies by providing real-world integration of IP-based digital video and existing analog video. It helps users leverage their existing analog infrastructure while enabling new IP video devices to be viewed and controlled from a common user interface.

The user interface is simple, intuitive, and powerful. Cameras, domes and PTZ functions can be easily controlled, as well as Pelco switchers, Pelco Enterprise Class DVRs, PelcoNET video transmission devices, and the new Pelco NVR300 Network Video Recorder – all with the speed and convenience of a click of the mouse.

VMX300 provides control and monitoring of up to 100 cameras, and the VMX300-E provides control of up to 2,000 cameras. Both VMX300 and VMX300-E can be configured to display a combination of IP-based video and analog video through two VGA monitors.

The VMX300 systems come pre-loaded with both server and client software, Pelco device drivers, and licenses for up to 10 Pelco cameras. Additional licenses can be purchased separately to accommodate higher camera counts. Facility maps are provided and installed by the system administrator and are used to identify the location of cameras, domes, and PTZ devices. Control of these devices occurs directly from the user interface.
In addition to camera selection, operation, programming and routing, VMX300 systems provide comprehensive DVR and NVR control, including playback of recorded video and alarm management.
