Pelco Introduces Four-Channel Multimedia Transmission System for Remote Monitoring

Clovis, CA (August 14, 2002) - Pelco is pleased to introduce the PelcoNet NET104A Series Multimedia Transmission System. This four-channel system uses existing connections for live video, data, and audio transmissions across Ethernet networks, yielding significant cost savings by integrating remote monitoring into a local area network (LAN) or the Internet - anywhere you choose.

PelcoNet NET104A saves installation costs because no separate cabling is required and also saves management costs by using a single, uniform network. With four channels, the system works with up to four video sources and can multiplex to provide a single view, sequence of views, or a quad view. NET104A turns the Internet into a live medium, ideal for applications in any industry and business sector to assist in facility management, security surveillance, and access control.

With minimal setup, the PelcoNet NET104A can be installed and running in minutes. Just connect cameras to the transmitter and a monitor to a standard PelcoNet NET101 Series receiver. Then connect the transmitter and receiver to the network and configure IP addresses for the equipment using a standard terminal program or any Internet browser. When you need to control a camera - operate pan, tilt, and lens functions, or do presets and patterns - an RS-232 data interface links the keyboard controls to the network and then from the network to the camera system.

An Internet browser can be used at the receiving end to display video on a PC, and on-screen keyboards in PelcoNet NET104A let you control the following devices over the network: System 9760 ® /9740 or CM6700/CM6800 matrix controllers, Genex ® multiplexer, Spectra® domes, and Esprit™ positioning systems. You can also record live video on the viewing computer's hard drive and play it back.

PelcoNet NET104A now gives you a new choice of using computer networks to interface your control and monitoring stations with remote camera sites, whether they are in the same building, across the country, or around the world.
